Artistic Director the winner of the "Order of Honour",

Honored worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan Abdurasul Yessekeyev.

Folk dance ensemble "Shalkyma" was created at GCE "State academic Philharmonic hall" of Astana akimat Nur-Sultan in 2007, under the guidance of chief choreographer the winner of the "Order of Honour.Honored worker of Kazakhstan, By Esekeev Abdurasul Nazhimedenov. The team includes graduates of the Almaty choreographic school. A. Seleznyov, the Republican variety-circus College. J. Elebekov, Kyzylorda, WKO universities and colleges (departments of choreography, specialty offices, choreographed "artists of folk dance").

The ensemble's repertoire includes Kazakh dance "Shattyk", "Kerim-ai", "Sholpi", "Akku kyzdar", "Shalkima", "kosalka", "kelinshek", "Kuanish", "ATA tolgau", "Ingaytok" "Akku", "Bishi kayin", "Aizhan Kyz", "Sagym", "Inzhu Marzhan"e.t.c Along with the performance of the national dance ensemble introduces the viewer to the traditions, ceremonies, customs of the Kazakh people. Also, the ensemble performed dance songs of the peoples of the world: Russian, Bashkir, Korean, Chinese, Tajik, Yakut, Persian, Spanish, Armenian, Turkish, Uighur, East dances.

In November 2007, the ensemble participated in international festival of creative youth "Shabyt", where it won a special diploma named by Shara Zhienkulova.

2009 – winner of the International festival "Berzamlek – Commonwealth" in Bashkortostan, city of Ufa.

In 2010 he won the Grand Prix at the international festival "Shabyt" c.Nur-Sultan.

2012 – the artist group Isekeshov Sandugash Nurgaliyev and Asemgul - winners of the IV Republican competition of Kazakh dance named. Š Zhienkulova.

2015 Aigerim Kulshina won 1st place at national contest-festival of folk dance of the people's artist of Kazakhstan Gulzhan Talpakova.

May 17, 2012 The ensemble gave a concert-lecture, devoted to 100 anniversary of S. Zhienkulova. Lectures read Honored artist of RK, candidate of art criticism of T. Izim. The concert was attended by sh. student zhienkulova the people's artist of Kazakhstan Gulzhan Talpakova, Honored artist of Kazakhstan Aigul Tati.

In a relatively short period of existence, the ensemble has undertaken tours to the cities of Kazakhstan: Almaty, Shymkent, Taraz, Kyzylorda (Baikonur), Aktobe, Kokshetau, Karaganda, Petropavlovsk, Pavlodar, Ust-Kamenogorsk. And with great recognition and success the band has performed in countries near and far abroad: Russia (Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Russia), Bashkortostan (Neftekamsk, Ufa), Afghanistan (Kabul, Kandahar), Korea, Germany (Munich, Bitburg, Frankfurt, Berlin), China (Shanghai, Beijing), Turkey (Ankara, Istanbul, Izmir, Adana), France (Paris).

In 2009, June 5 at the scene of the Presidential cultural centre (now the "Nazarbayev center"), the presentation of the folk dance ensemble "Shalkima". Where the team demonstrated their skills in dance. Dancing was performed to the accompaniment of folk instruments ensemble "Saryarka". The presentation was attended by famous masters of choreography: people's artist of Kazakhstan, Laureate of State. award of Kazakhstan, Professor Bolat Ayukhanov, people's artist of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, Laureate of State. prize of the Republic of Kyrgyzstan Professor Dokturbek Beiseuov, Honored artist of Kazakhstan Toygan Isim, Honored worker of Kazakhstan Larisa Kim, Aigul Kulbekova.

In 2015-2016, 2017-2019 year the ensemble participated the festival in the capital Maskat, the state of Oman. 2019 acted in day of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Istanbul, Turkey.
