Alexandra is well known lyric coloratura soprano and composer in Iceland. She made her way to the hearts of Icelanders through her beautiful crystal voice, sincere musicality and vivid stage presence. After Alexandrás appearance as Violetta Valery in “La Traviata” by G.Verdi with the Icelandic Opera Skagafjardar company, music critics sad that “Miracles still happen”.
She sang with the Kiev National Radio and Television Orchestra, Kiev State Academical Musical Theatre of Opera and Ballet for Youth, International Music Sacra Festival in Marktoberdorf in Germany, Rhodes International Opera Festival in Greece, International Opera Studio by Katja Ricciarelli in Italy, Opera Skagafjardar in Iceland, Icelandic symphony orchestra of the North, New York Contemporary Opera Festival, USA, Japan International music festival in Mie and Tokyo, Denmark, Norway, Russia and others.
Alexandra was born in Kiev, Ukraine and studied at the R. Glier Kiev Institute of Music, at the Kiev National Linguistic University and at the National Music Academy in Odessa where she received her degree in 2003 as an opera singer and teacher. Since 2019 is a member of Icelandic Composers Society - Tónskáldafélag Íslands.
Among the awards of Alexandra are Cristal Music Key & Second Prize at the International Composer Competition by Isaak Dunajevskiy (Moscow, Russia, 2019); International Prize of the Outstanding Young Icelanders for achievement in culture of Iceland (JCI,Reykjavik, Iceland, 2014);
Medal "For Friendship and Cooperation" and the promotion of friendly relations between Russia and Iceland (Moscow, Russian Federation, 2018), Certificate of Merit from the Commission on the Affairs of Compatriots Abroad, for a special contribution to the support of Russia, development of relations with the historical homeland, preservation of the Russian language and Russian culture( Iceland, 2019), Alexandra - the finalist of the competition "Man of the Year", the National Award (Skagafjördur, Iceland, 2007), the winner of the International Competition of opera singers (Rhodes, Greece, 2002) and the National Competition "New Names" (Kiev, Ukraine, 2002) and others.
Alexandra holds an Master of Music Music in Innovative Music Creation and Performance from The Iceland Academy of the Arts, M.Ed. from The University of Educational Management in Kiev, Master of Performance in Opera and Concert Singing from Odessa Music Academy and Higher Music College by R.Glier in Kiev, Bachelor degree in Spanish, English and World Literature from Kiev State Linguistic University, respectively.
Alexandra published 3 solo Cds: "Alexandra soprano" (2006), “Draumur" - romances by Sergei Rachmaninoff performed by Alexandra Chernyshova and legendary icelandic pianist Jónas Ingimundarsson (2008), "You and only you"( 2011).
