Native American dances are an entire world of relationships between man and nature. There are imitation of animals and appeals to deities and to the forces of nature. Indigenous dance is a whole ritual, where all the details are important - from the costume to the floor of the dancers. For centuries, the established traditions helped to cause rain, harvest, deal with a nature. The demonstration of strength and morale in ritual dances gave confidence to the residents of the tribe just as today's states military parade is impressive.
